Fighting Fire With Fire (Corazon X Reader)

"Is she going to be alright doctor?" he asked while the room fell quiet.

The doctor looked at Doflamingo and let out a sigh. He pushed his glasses up with a finger and looked him straight in the eye.
"It seems so. I've already researched her symptoms and the sickness shouldn't be fatal." he said clicking his pen and writing down on a notepad. "I recommend that she takes two of these pills, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Make sure she stays in bed for plenty of rest and eat properly. She should be cured in a few days but here's my number if there's any problems." he handed him a bottle of pills and a piece of paper with his number.

"Fufufu thank you doctor, I'll escort you outside while we talk about your payment." Doflamingo informed.

The men walked out the door and came to a stop when Doflamingo turned to his brother who was watching from the doorway. 

"Here." he handed the pills to Corazon with a serious face. "I have a meeting to go after this so take care of her for now." he said to him before wandering off with the doctor.



Corazon stood there, tossing the bottle into the air and catching it with one hand while a small boy that clung to the back of his feather coat climbed down and ran to the side of your bed.

"Law!" you gasped and sat up."What are you doing here squirt?"

"I heard you got sick so I came here to help."

"Help? As in cure me?"
He nods his head and you let out a soft laugh.

"Just don't try to dissect me like one of your experiment frogs."

"Shut up! I'm going to be the greatest doctor in the North Blue and be able to cure anyone, just you wait!"

"And I'll be there to make sure you do so never give up on your dream, got it?" you put a hand on his head.
He gave a nod in response and returned a smile.

Corazon who was still in the doorway struggled to turn on his lighter with one hand, making countless of flickering noises and ruining the bonding moment with you and Law.



"Were you worried about me too or are you just following Doflamingo's orders to come and babysit me?" you asked him.
He raised his head to look at you and looked back down to continue with the tough lighter.

"And here I was, hoping you'd at least say something but you're always giving everyone the silent treatment so why should I even bother." you crossed your arms.

A single flame emerged from the depths of the small silver device. He leaned towards the fire with a cigarette between the corner of his lips and let the small flame burn the end. The smoke escaped his mouth and evaporated into the air as he gave you a slight smirk. 

"______ your medicine!" Law remembered. He scurried over to Corazon and snagged the bottle from his other hand and ran back to you. "Here." he opened the container and took out a pill.

"I don't need to take any medicine if I'm feeling better." you denied his offer.

"But you have to ______! The doctor said-"

"I'm fine."



He refused to cooperate with your stubbornness and turned to Corazon with a frown. Law ran out of the room in an instant and left the two of you alone. You were going to call him back but stopped once Corazon stepped forward and calmly walked to you. He took out his cigarette and threw it in a trash can nearby, not realizing it was still lit. 

"The trashcan, i-it's on fire!" you alarmed him and pointed to the flames coming out.

Corazon ran back around and stomped the fire over and over with his foot until it was completely gone. He scratched the back of his head and grinned slightly embarrassed. A little flame had caught onto a feather of his massive coat and his entire back was on fire soon after.

"AHHHHHH CORAZON!!!!!" you shrieked. 

He ran across the room in a careless manner and flung his arms in the air. He had caught himself on fire yet he still hasn't spoken a word.

"STOP DROP AND ROLL!!!!!" you reminded him.

You watched him collapse to the floor and roll across the hardwood floor. Once the fire was out, his arms and legs were spread out and his coat was charred into the same shade of black as it was before.
What in the world was that thing made out of!?



He stood back up to brush himself off and continued to walk over to the side of your bed. Corazon plopped right onto the bed and turned towards to you. He started to feel lightheaded from inhaling all of the smoke from the previous fire and his head started to rock back and forth and then landed right between the center of your chest. 

"H-hey what are you doing?!" you looked down at Corazon who was quite comfortable resting between the cushions of your body. "Get off of me! I swear what is with you today?" you panicked while your face began to heat up.

"Whoops," he finally spoke and lifted his face closer to yours, "sorry about that ______, I'm just a bit clumsy today." he raised up his sunglasses and you peered into his striking blue eyes.

Your eyes widened hearing the words come out of his mouth and the smooth low voice he had kept secret for so long.

He grasped your cheeks between his fingers and leaned in to link his lips along yours, giving you a long but delicate kiss. You had no idea what was going on at this moment and you were too shocked to even move. 



Corazon stood back to notice your jaw dropped and his lipstick smothered on the sides of your mouth.

"Good girl." he said while dropping a pill inside your mouth. He placed his hand under your chin to lift your jaw up and allowed the medicine to descend down your throat. Corazon smiled and pats your head before hopping off your bed and leaving the room. "Mission was a success." he whispered over to Law who was waiting for him at the doorway.

"Alright!" Law quietly cheered.

"Mission? Success?" you overheard and spotted Law and Corazon snickering.

Corazon looked over his shoulder and saw the angry glare you gave them. "Uh oh, she's coming back to her senses."

They gave each other a high five as Law leaped onto his back and rode piggyback style. Corazon fled out of your reach with Law and ran through the hallways of the palace, hoping you wouldn't catch them. You weakly got up and moved unsteadily to the door to watch them take off.

You roughly coughed and staggered against the door, raising a fist at them. "Get back here so I can strangle you two!" you shouted from the hallway. 





-A couple of days later-

"Idiot, now you're sick," you threw a pillow at Corazon's face who was now resting on your bed, coughing and sneezing the way you did before, "If you hadn't kissed me you wouldn't have had this problem."

He coughed up a storm while you brought him a plate of food and his medicine. "Well you can't blame a man for trying." he cracked up. Though you admired the lengths he went to just for you to take the medicine, you smiled at the thought and sat on the bed.

"Thanks for taking care of me Corazon. Now it's time for me to repay the debt and take care of you." you handed him his capsule of medicine.

"I guess that kiss was really worth it because now I get to spend more time with you." he grinned.

"Shh lower your voice or someone might hear you." you laughed.

"Of course, mi Corazon."
